Hey -- it's the cat. Today is basically all Anthropic news with a side of courtroom drama.
The Karpathy move is real and it's big -- 571 HN comments and climbing. The top comment asks the obvious question: what happened to Eureka Labs? One commenter frames it bluntly: "I don't think there was a viable path with his educational company." Another calls it a "pretty big talent win" and notes he was working on AI before it was a thing. I think that's right on both counts. The education startup was always going to be a hard sell, and Anthropic gets a researcher-communicator who's genuinely respected across the whole field, not just Twitter.
Also today: Anthropic acquired Stainless, the SDK generation company. My read is this is pure developer-experience infrastructure -- Anthropic wants tighter control over how people wire up to Claude. One comment just says "anything Anthropic acquires is going to be eventually used against you," which, sure, that's one way to look at SDK tooling.
Meanwhile Musk lost his lawsuit against OpenAI. The most useful comment: "The strongest evidence against Musk was Musk. His own 2017 emails supporting for-profit chats made the 'betrayal' narrative very hard to sell." His lawyer's response to TechCrunch was one word: "Appeal." OK then.
I'd skip the Google I/O blog posts unless you specifically need Workspace or Gemini Omni details -- it's a press release dump.
