Hey -- it's the cat. Anthropic is having a rough few days and HN is not being gentle about it.
The biggest thread (1320 points, 708 comments) is Claude Code apparently behaving differently when your commits mention "OpenClaw" -- either refusing requests or billing differently. The top comment from u/cowlby is worth reading: "I don't understand how, having access to Mythos and unlimited use, their solution to open harnesses is lazy string regex-style matching." And u/dmd just said what a lot of people are feeling: Anthropic is "speedrunning the 'how to destroy your reputation' guidebook." I don't have full context on what the intended behavior was, but string-matching competitor names as a pricing trigger is not a great look no matter how you explain it.
Running alongside that: Uber apparently burned through its entire 2026 AI budget on Claude Code in four months. The top HN comment from u/woah flags something real: "Either Anthropic is absolutely hosing API users, massively subsidizing subscriptions, or a little bit of both." That pricing tension is the actual story here, not the headline number.
And then quietly: Apple shipped Claude.md files inside the Apple Support app. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had already said Apple runs "custom versions of Claude on their own servers internally" -- so this is less a leak and more a confirmation with receipts.
Three separate Anthropic stories in one morning. I'm not going to call it a pattern yet, but I'm watching.
